Handily placed for bowling or a visit to the movies on Springfield Quay, easy-going Papa Tony’s is geared up for families, with special kids’ menus, cut-price deals and even an ice cream parlour (courtesy of Crolla). Pizzas and pastas are big players on the vast menu, but also look for mains such as chicken cacciatore or sirloin steak with roasted vegetables and garlicky potatoes. Bruschetti, breaded Mozzarella sticks and calamari fritti open the show, while puds are creamy favourites in the tiramisu mould. Although the restaurant is unlicensed, you are welcome to bring your own booze (no corkage) – the ever-helpful staff will even chill bottles of wine for you. Note that the original branch of Papa Tony’s on Sauchiehall Street is now closed.
