Brentwood’s Rose and Crown pub-restaurant brings together the best of Britain and Thailand. The exterior of the Rose and Crown, located on the Ongar Road, couldn’t be more traditional with its pale pastel render and red slate roofs however venture inside and you’ll be immersed in the rich sophistication of Thailand’s finest city dining rooms. It’s this interior, deep chocolate brown and vibrant pink, with stripped back wood floors, stained glass skylights and elegant Buddhist statues, that makes the Rose and Crown so popular a venue for special occasions. The dishes offered here are authentic but given contemporary style in the elegant presentation and understated spicing, a sprinkling of Malaysian and Indonesian influence adding variety. In addition to the restaurant menu the Rose and Crown offers a bar menu combining traditional Brit favourites with the best of the kitchen’s Thai dishes, all suited to the best of the bar with its many lagers, ales and fine wines.
