Imagine a traditional stone building in the higgledy-piggledy tourist core of St Ives, but with the interior decked out like an informal surf shack: scuffed furniture, some large communal tables & an open kitchen. The basic Blas Burger comes with salad & mayo; the ‘huevos rancheros’ version also includes corn salsa, guacamole, a free-range egg & chilli sauce. With around 20 variations to choose from – including chicken & vegetarian – everybody should find one to suit. Desserts are simple (ice cream, chocolate brownies), while drinks range from half a dozen gluggable wines to some bottled local ales. After a day on the beach, on the water or walking the coastal path, this is ideal.
