When this much-loved eatery relocated from South Lanes to a huge glass-fronted venue in the ultra-modern Myhotel complex, Brighton's foodies held their collective breath. Thankfully, Chilli Pickle has gone from strength to strength, cementing its position as one of the town’s standout restaurants. Chef Alun Sperring (ex-Cinnamon Club in London) continues to wow diners with his modern take on Indian cuisine, while his wife Dawn is a friendly presence out front, where pastel colours add a touch of Bollywood glamour. Signature dishes such as oxtail Madras & whole tandoori-spiced sea bass remain as fragrantly enticing as ever, but it’s the attention to detail that sets CP apart, from zingy homemade chilli & pineapple pickle to the last-minute sprinkling of perfumed rose water over mutton biryani. Powerful New World reds stand up well to the vibrant flavours, otherwise check out the Belgian beers & Meantime ales.
