Restaurants in Swansea

Perfectly placed along the coast of south Wales, Swansea is not just the former home city of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, but is also surprisingly somewhat of a top foodie destination. Seafood plays a big part in the city’s history and as well as being served in Swansea’s fantastic array of restaurants, local produce heads off to some of the finest eateries in both London and Paris. The Mumbles Oyster Festival is always a big draw whilst the market is excellent for sampling local food delicacies such as cockles, oysters and seaweed based Laverbread. The Mumbles area of Swansea Bay boasts a fine selection of restaurants, many offering stunning sea views whilst there are plenty of charming seaside pubs in which to dine in too. If you fancy something sweet after dinner, the area is famous for its Welsh/Italian ice cream parlours and there’s even an annual competition to see who serves the best.
