Restaurants in Windsor

Just 30 miles from London and easily accessible from the M3 and M4, Windsor is one of England’s top tourist destinations. The town is dominated by its most famous building, Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of Britain’s Royal Family, and the oldest and largest permanently lived in castle in the world. The town has plenty to offer – royal patronage, a rich cultural heritage and stunning architecture, as well as the attractions of nearby Eton College, horseracing at Ascot and beautiful natural scenery in Windsor Great Park - a deer park of some 5,000 acres. Chain eateries and cafés are prolific and strongly supported by day trippers, but independent restaurants in Windsor include TV chef and cookery book writer Mridula Baljekar’s Spice Route, found in the shadow of the castle, Crème, a family-run all-day eatery, and just outside Windsor, The Greene Oak, a welcoming gastropub not far from Legoland.
