Restaurants in Blackpool

Blackpool is in a league of its own. It endures as Britain’s most popular resort destination, a tangle of neon illuminations, ancient electric trams, promenades and Victorian piers. Blackpool Tower has stood over the Golden Mile since 1894, the Pleasure Beach is one of the top 20 most-visited amusement parks in the world, and the Winter Gardens are famous for hosting the main annual conferences of major political parties and trade unions. Fish and chips tend to dominate the eating-out scene, but locals head for Seniors, a chain of three chippies on the Fylde Coast – the Blackpool branch being the original. Elsewhere, restaurants in Blackpool are mainly mass-market chains, with the odd exception: Toast Café Bar and Grill is a chic city-style venue with a please-all menu of international favourites. The best place to eat in these parts, however, is The Cartford Inn, a cracking pub-with-rooms just 10 miles inland.
