A neon sign at the entrance to this upmarket basement cocktail lounge says ‘beautiful’ & who are we to argue? Squeeze onto a curvy padded banquette in bold crimson & mauve surrounds served by a sleek backlit bar & savour well-presented cocktails. There are sparkling Champagne sensations such as Club Lover (fig liqueur & vanilla charged with Perrier Jouet), as well as a selection of martinis, talls & shorts worth investigation. Entry-level white wine is a no-frills Languedoc at £12.50, but shell out on a dry Chilean Riesling or a Bourgogne Aligote.
