River Point

Although it’s still early days, the new incarnation of this idyllic dining spot (formerly Ghillies on the River) looks set to be a winner. Offering global salads & steaks alongside specials like pigeon & foie gras salad, Jaipur monkfish curry & grilled lobster, the food is reliable but not really the focal point. Not even the inexpensive global wine list can compete with or distract from the lovely view over the river. There’s plenty of alfresco space, but it’s prudent to avoid sitting on the restaurant’s jetty over the Thames in the evening because of the whipping wind-chill factor.
