While not exactly cutting edge, the Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel’s canary yellow restaurant is fresh looking & comfortable, perfect for a reviving Champagne cocktail (Mimosa is Buck’s Fizz in American). Bar snacks extend to calamari or tiger prawns in garlic butter, but there’s a fuller Mediterranean menu in the restaurant proper: think porcini risotto or sea bass with tomato butter sauce. This is very much the territory of Knightsbridge ladies who lunch (with personal shoppers in tow) & UAE expats who consider the Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel a home from home.
