Square Meal review of The Harrison: ? Write your review

A post-war housing estate conceals this converted workmen’s boozer, which is well worth tracking down. Original Watney’s frosted glass windows, an open fire & imported trashed leather sofas appeal to a young trendy crowd, as do Kirin, Duvel & Old Speckled Hen. Timothy Taylor Landlord & Amstel come on tap & 20 wines at under £30 include a house Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. Anglo-French bistro food, with veggies well catered for, comes in man-size portions & the pub offers a rapid lunch formula, as well as toasties & quesadillas. Music runs to funk & soul, & the ambience is so chilled you won’t want to leave – perhaps you’ll check in to one of The Harrison’s four newly refurbished bedrooms, available at £99 per double.

Write your own review and build your own restaurant guide

Got something to contribute or fancy yourself as a critic? All your thoughts and reviews will be collated on your My Square Meal page to form your own guide – a simple aide memoire for you to use or, in time, a guide in itself with its very own following.

The better your reviews the more highly rated and more ‘followed’ you will be, and, in addition to this, there will be Square Meal prizes for the best reviews.
