Square Meal review of Ottolenghi:
Ottolenghi is, perhaps, the slickest example of a new genre of restaurant: the deli-diner. At the front of the shop there’s a vibrant, colourful display of salads & dishes such as seared tuna with wasabi dressing. If you take a seat in the stylish white restaurant section at the rear, you can choose plates of these delicacies alongside the day’s hot dishes such as char-grilled lamb rump with fig, walnut, goats’ cheese, mint & parsley sauce. Three plates per person should be plenty, though during the day you are just welcome to sip a cup of frothy cappuccino & indulge in the heavenly patisserie selection of tarts, muffins, meringues & cakes. The long shared tables are always packed with a mixture of yummy mummies, trendy media types & Upper Street shoppers & the chatty buzz is all part of the (sometimes noisy) atmosphere.
