If only every neighbourhood had a Stuzzico. Open for breakfast, lunch & dinner, this tiny local eatery pulls off a tricky balancing act between cafe & restaurant. Pop in for an excellent coffee & a croissant in the morning or loiter over well-cooked Italian food at lunchtime. In the evening, the atmosphere is unexpectedly swanky, with fancy starters such as scallops with saffron sauce or figs with San Daniele ham. Mains include sea bass with a sun-dried tomato crust & artichoke purée, as well as slow-braised rabbit with a broad bean & plum tomato salad. The secret of Stuzzico’s success is its flexible dining room, which is both simple & stylish, plus the passion of its larger-than-life owner. Other local restaurants should take note.
