Square Meal review of Prohibition:
Prohibition is the opening London gambit of an eponymous chain of northern nightlife players. Berry tones, black marble, dark wood & plush sink-in sofas lit by groovy chandeliers inhabit a slick metrosexy duplex of super-casino proportions. With speakeasy-style booths, intimate anterooms & a circular bar upstairs, the designers have come up trumps. High rollers splash out on spirits by the bottle (from £70 including mixers), while a nippy range of Belgian beers that includes Chimay Rouge & De Koninck is also worth a punt. Cocktails start at £4.95 & wines & Champagne run from £2.65 for a glass of white to bling-bling Cristal at £195. Light-bite platters or more formal dining are designed to suit all pockets & tastes.
