It may not be the most exciting Italian in town, but the imaginative menu, elegant dining room & professional staff mean Pappagallo is rarely short of custom, particularly from Mayfair suits. The bright & modern interior is reflected in a contemporary & innovative menu that offers a wide selection of antipasti, pasta, risotto, fish & meat dishes: puff pastry filled with king prawns & artichokes in a gazpacho sauce or pappardelle with rabbit ragu topped with liver bruschetta, followed perhaps by lamb in poppy & sesame seed crust served with roasted peppers & a parsnip cake. A more relaxed bar upstairs & grappa trolley are further pluses.
