Rocket

A plum spot on the river might be enough to attract Putney’s well-heeled young to the south-westerly link in the family-run Rocket restaurant chain. But jovial waiting staff, a sunny terrace & roomy, glass-fronted dining room assure its popularity. Though the laid-back service doesn’t merit the pricier options from the seasonally changing menu, the kitchen makes a decent fist of the excellent wood-fired pizzas & imaginative salads. The relaxed, cosmopolitan daytime feel ups its pace in the evening, particularly in the large, split-level bar. Commanding wonderful views, the circular, 10-person booths in the main restaurant are in great demand on Friday & Saturday evenings.
