Opal will not make everybody’s mouth water: its cave-like interiors, with seating secreted in nooks & crannies, is the polar opposite of minimalist chic, & the crudely painted black & white colour scheme looks oddly amateur for the upmarket location. Nevertheless, the DJ bar is a reliable party spot on the late-night west London scene, not least with those who’ve failed to get into nearby members’ clubs Amika & Chloe. Signature punches come by the two, four or eight person keg, while martinis for two weigh in at a reasonable £13 – a great way of getting closer to the Sloane you made eye contact with earlier.
