Square Meal Review of Cottons ?

Put on your dancing shoes: this Caribbean playhouse is home to one frenetic bar, where rum cocktails provide the fuel for a night of booty shaking to bass-heavy beats. Over 270 rums find their way here, & come mixed into potent concoctions such as the Koko Kolada (with pineapple & nutmeg) & the Million Dollar Daiquiri (with mint, cane syrup & Champagne). With happy ‘hour’ 5-7pm daily, the nights start early. Food almost takes a backseat, though you can order dishes from all over the Islands in the three topsy-turvy dining rooms. Naturally, jerk seasoning makes numerous appearances, but there’s also Bajan fish fritters, Trinidadian seafood curry & beef pepper pot. Grumbles over slapdash cooking & idle service suggest the bar is Cottons’ soundest asset.

One of my favourite places to hang out whether it be for a quiet cocktail after work, a meal with friends or a Saturday night bump and grind in the Rhum Shack area to one of many live acts and DJs they have.. They have good quality Caribbean food for 'hard core jerk lovers' as well as first timers! There are three different dining rooms all inspired my different Caribbean islands so each experience is different. It's not cheap but you wouldn't expect it to be. You can see by the quality of the food and the atmosphere, you really get what you pay for! The duck is my favourite.

What's most impressive is the cocktail and rum list.. There is a rum for everyone, just ask the dishy manager, Ian to recommend one of the hundreds they have and custom make you a cocktail which are all around £6, so reasonably priced. Get the holiday vibe and try the China Breeze and you soon find yourself gyrating to the music with the resident 70 year old womanizer, Trevor*.
