Davy’s Clerkenwell outpost is a draw for office workers in summer shirts – alfresco tables make sure of that. Come autumn, its loyal following reconvenes indoors in comfortably unchallenging surroundings. Wines are, as ever with Davy’s, dependable & honestly priced: a fruity Chilean Chardonnay is right at £18.25 & a good selection by the glass includes a cracking Saint Amour (£5.35) also available by the half bottle. Food runs from sandwiches to big boy steaks, sausages & burgers.
