As its name suggests, this less-is-more fish bistro takes a simple approach to both decor & cooking, & has the welcoming feel of a family-run restaurant. The intimate dining room, with wooden furniture & nautical knick-knacks, provides the setting for the unpretentious cooking. The daily changing menu, displayed on a giant blackboard, offers around 15 mains & focuses on fresh ingredients & Mediterranean-style cooking. A typical meal might kick off with fish soup or oysters, ahead of butterflied rainbow trout with almond, honey & lemon, or a fillet of halibut with spinach, bacon, avocado & Stilton butter. Close-set tables can make the restaurant feel cramped in winter but there’s plenty of outdoor seating for warmer months.
