The slate & sawdust decor never changes & regulars can count on menu staples such as the plate of hand-carved Alderton ham served with piccalilli, salad & buttered potatoes as part of the handy 30-minute Express Lunch. But there’s a bit of innovation here, too: every month welcomes seasonal menu additions & wine promotions, while the management puts on a lively programme of tasting events.
