Square Meal review of Oriel:
Oriel is always busy, which is quite a feat given that recent reports suggest the staff can be ‘rude & unaccommodating’ & that the food is ‘poor’. We can only put its popularity down to the inviting brasserie air with tables spilling out of the breezy dining room on to the pavement in summer. The prices, too, are reasonable for this part of town & if you stick to the simpler dishes (burger & salads over kedgeree or confit duck) you’re less likely to be disappointed.
