If you think Scandinavia is all about dreadful Eurovision acts, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at this narrow basement bar devoted to the lands of the midnight sun, complete with aurora borealis lighting effects. Reyka & Brannvin vodka, Kopparbergs cider & Crocodile beer are all good reasons to visit, but there are also zingy £6.95 mixes such as Longberry (think a Molotov cocktail disguised as a smoothie) or a Dirty Swedish Mojito. For a harder hit, choose from the list of ‘Nordic Silly Shots’ offering the likes of Dancing Queen (banana, coconut & Seriously Pinky vodka) described on the drinks list as ‘moose-sick to my ears’ (geddit?). Scandinavian food that includes smorgåsbord & gravad lax is many notches up from what you get at IKEA.
