With a prime site opposite St Paul’s Cathedral & huge windows to take full advantage of the view, this outpost of the Davy’s empire eschews the chain’s familiar Dickensian cosiness for something more contemporary. Laid out on two levels, with a mezzanine above the spacious main bar, it’s full of wide open spaces & decked out in a vibrant, red colour scheme. The open kitchen dispatches the likes of bangers & mash, fishcakes & char-grilled steaks, & the Davy’s wine list provides plenty of affordable imbibing for tourists & business folk alike.
