This tiny hole-in-the-wall made its name by serving cheap bowls of tasty pasta at breakneck speed – which it continues to do with gusto. Daily specials are scribbled up on whiteboards, but it’s the laminated A4 menu that holds the real trump cards: grilled sardines, lasagne verdi, fusilli with meatballs & pannacotta for dessert. It’s all good value – the lobster spaghetti comes in at less than £16 – but the clinical look of plastic chairs & tiled floor feels a little tired. Great for a quick bite, though you probably won’t want to linger.
