Spanish food importers and tapas specialists Ibérica are building on the success of their eateries in Marylebone and Canary Wharf with the launch of this new site next to Farringdon tube station. Occupying what was US themed joint Redhook, the new branch broadly follows the original formula, but with a few new features promised – including more emphasis on the bar and a Spanish breakfast menu offering homemade churros. Otherwise, tip-top regional ingredients form the backbone of the menu, from rustic breads, artisan cheeses, charcuterie and peasant-style tapas staples such as croquetas and tortilla to more modish creations courtesy of Michelin-starred executive chef Nacho Manzano. There is also a top-drawer list of directly imported Spanish wines from boutique growers, and some eye-catching new interiors devised by Barcelona-based designer Lázaro Rosa Violán.
