DUE TO OPEN APRIL 2014
Despite some outside bets on Jason Atherton, Noma’s René Redzepi and US superstar Thomas Keller, the smart money was always on Simon Rogan to take over the restaurant at Claridges, following Gordon Ramsay’s departure. With two-Michelin-starred L’Enclume at the very top of its game and rave reviews piling up for Rogan’s two eateries in Manchester’s Midland Hotel, the time was right for a permanent home in London (following the success of extended pop-up Roganic). The Cumbria-based superstar won’t be the first high-profile out-of-town chef to pitch camp in a top London hotel, either. The restaurant’s name has yet to be decided and menus are still in the planning stage, although Rogan insists the food will be ‘nothing like Roganic’. More details to follow.
