A go-to boozer for generations of working-class gay men, this Camden pub has entertained a who’s who of brassy ‘broads’ in wigs, falsies, American tan tights and more slap that Rimmel London. The upstairs bar and alfresco terrace is named after Mrs Sufflewick (aka 1950s vaudeville turn Rex Coster), while the downstairs disco cabaret/disco bar has played host to everyone from Lily Savage to the late, great Regina Fong. Food brings breakfasts, burgers, boards, bangers and battered tempura king prawns to go with a range of lads’ lagers, cheap wines and bubbles fit for any queen. In case you were wondering, Lola Lasagne and Baga Chipz are two of the current featured drag acts, not pasta and potato dishes. Be warned: the wannabe wailers on Wednesday’s karaoke nights can be prove way scarier than the pub’s resident ghost.
