Whether you fancy the director’s cut of Alien, an evening of Jacques Brel, a game of poker or a pie & a pint with Premiership footie, you’ll be able to find all that & more at the Roxy, which has an almost bemusing programme of events. As you’d expect, the punters change according to what’s happening in this comfortably eccentric bar, though there’s always a laid-back & friendly vibe. Alongside a short list of classic & house cocktails, drinkers can dip into an idiosyncratic wine list that includes the cheeky Racers & Rascals Pinot Noir from Australia’s Yarra Valley as well as stuff from Brazil & Greece. Bottled beers come courtesy of the brilliant Utobeer stall in Borough Market & on our last visit included Negra Modelo from Mexico & Timmerman’s Belgian strawberry beer. Food also comes courtesy of Borough suppliers & includes the likes of Pieminister pie & mash, venison burgers & wild boar sausages.
