Squaremeal Review of Zorita’s Kitchen ?

Located on the Thames Walkway, opposite Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe, this casual eatery-cum-farm shop is masterminded by the Haciendas group and provides a showcase for produce from the owners’ organic farm in Spain’s Duero Valley. Peckish punters looking for a grazing pit-stop can take their pick from artisan cheeses and charcuterie from acorn-fed pigs, although the modest menu also runs to spicy sardines on toast, baby potatoes with alioli, various tostadillas and salads (jamón, fig and goats’ cheese, for example). To finish, try the lush layered caramel and cheese tart. Artisan ingredients rule here, while oenophiles will be pleased to see that a chunk of the plain, wood-furnished dining room is given over to hundreds of Iberian wines with modest mark-ups (note the offerings from Marqués de la Concordia). Eat upstairs or on the terrace for the best river views.
