Better known as a nightclub – hence the burly bouncers and “rather intimidating entrance”, DSTRKT also boasts a lavish, sexily lit subterranean dining room that eschews attitude in favour of unpretentious party vibes, “reasonable prices” and ‘modern small plate dining’ – courtesy of American ‘molecular’ whizz kid George Yaneff. Service is “out of this world” and the cooking revolves around “super-fresh” seasonal sharing plates loaded with imaginative flavours and wild ideas: frisée salad with raspberries and lobster; Saudi prawns with charred scallion oil and black grits; BBQ pork belly with rhubarb slaw, apple, celery and blueberry aïoli; strawberry and chocolate truffle with chocolate ‘soil’ and strawberry mousse – plus organic charcuterie platters and sustainable caviar spreads. Otherwise, stunning, elegantly balanced cocktails followed by a 12-course tasting menu with wine matches add up to somewhere “a little lush in theatreland”.
Located in the basement this stylish Soho establishment is positively bling – from the glistening bottles of wine that greet you on display, to the lavishly dark and boujis dining area. Inside sets out to impress and succeeds, but can the same be said of the food? To put it simply – yes!...

DSTRKT arrived in London nearly a year ago now and has already been hosting dinners and club nights for celebrities and the well healed crowds of the city. Despite residing in the building behind KFC in Piccadilly (very glamorous I know) it does always seem to be very busy.
