This pizza/pasta joint is making quite a name for itself in Stoke Newington. The sourdough bases for the pizzas are cooked hot enough in the stone-backed pizza oven to make them light and crispy, while the toppings are sliced and prepared to order, allowing the flavours and goodness to be maintained at the highest levels. The classic toppings are all on offer – if you’re the margherita type, you can’t go wrong – but the ‘nduja version, with fior di latte mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes and chillies is our top choice. If you’re not in the market for pizza, there’s plenty more to choose from – this is a deli as well as a restaurant and there’s a range of lovely small plates and salads, as well as top-notch, house-made pastas. There’s a short list of well-priced Italian wines, all by glass and bottle, though if arriving for eggs with pancetta for breakfast, a seriously good cup of coffee might be more fitting.
