The Red Barn in Lingfield's Blindley Heath not only has a great dining area, it also has its own farm shop. The dining room is situated in a 20ft-tall wooden barn, lined with books and heated by a
very large, central fire. As an extra touch, the waitresses are even issued with soft shoes to dampen the sound of them walking across the wooden floors. The menu is daily-changing, but a meal here
might include a starter of cauliflower soup with spiced shrimps, a main course of Aberdeen Angus beef and Cornish ale pie with a side order of gratin dauphinoise. Three courses cost an average of
£30 per person.
