SquareMeal Review of The Raven - Bath

Formerly a sticky-carpeted hangout for the city’s punks and goths, this buzzy old boozer is now one of central Bath’s must-visit alehouses and a popular pit stop for shoppers and tourists, as well as real ale aficionados. Set across two floors of a pair of Georgian houses on a quiet side street close to the main shopping area, the pub specialises in CAMRA-rated ales and ciders ranging from Adnams to Mole and Theakstons. The list changes almost daily, but you will always find Raven and Raven’s Gold on tap as they are both brewed exclusively for the pub. For those who don’t fancy beer, there’s a decent wine list to go with a sensibly priced menu of pub grub including a big selection of locally made Pieminister pies served with mash, gravy and mushy peas.
