The owners of perennially cool Kingsland Road watering hole Dreambagsjaguarshoes have annexed the old Shoreditch railway station for their second venture, a bar/café/gallery/shop/catwalk hybrid
aimed at skinny latte addicts and even skinnier jeans junkies. Grungey, goth decor includes sundry skip booty and some low-flying, upside-down plants in pots. Proto Mark Zuckerbergs and wannabe
Tracey Emins can slake their thirsts with Erdinger, Kirin Ichiban and Red Stripe on tap, a good selection of rums and malts (Talisker, Dalwhinnie and Auchentoshan, for example), plus wines from £4
a glass. Hearty venison stew and lamb hotpot are a snip at £5.50, and there’s also a selection of sandwiches, paninis, cakes and pastries alongside milled-to-order Brazilian coffee beans (organic
and Freetrade, of course). Pews in a slouchy lounge behind the bar are at a premium – but brace yourselves for the dank loos.
