About

A warm and welcoming pub that specialises in classic British pub grub, The Old Manor has quite a lot to be smug about. Firstly, it is handily located just a two minute walk from Potters Bar station, making it an easily accessible venue for a casual date night or catch ups with friends. The pub also benefits from free on-site parking, while a large beer garden (open all year round) and a ‘dogs welcome’ policy are further reasons to visit.

Inside, you can expect to find a rustic, countryside chic space, complete with plenty of cosy corners to snuggle up in. The venue is split across two floors, and the dining area features comfortable tub chairs, open fireplaces and dark oak beams lining the ceiling, which really add to The Old Manor’s sense of character.

As for the food menu, for the most part it is unashamedly traditional (and all the better for it), although a few concessions to modern times have been made - note the varied vegetarian and vegan options available, including a plant-based burger. Kick-start your meal with a selection of small plates, which include the likes of grilled sardines on toast, Dorset potted crab served with toasted beer sourdough or a Scotch egg served with homemade brown sauce.

For your main course, choose between tempting options such as traditional beer-battered fish and chips served with mushy peas and tartare sauce, or 16oz Cote De Boeuf paired with triple-cooked chips, roasted tomato, roasted shallot, watercress and a green peppercorn sauce. Finish up on a sweet note thanks to fruit crumble with custard or a classic sherry trifle.

A dedicated children’s menu is also available if you have the family in tow, while on weekends you can expect indulgent brunch plates and slap-up Sunday roasts. There’s a great selection of global wines too, plus craft beers and local ales.
