About

The Bell is a multi award winning country pub that sits between the towns of Stroud and Cirencester in a beautiful and sleepy little village called Sapperton, famous for its stunning countryside, long canal tunnel and association with the 20th Century Arts and Crafts Movement.

Roaring log fires and cosy corners in the winter, and a beautifully landscaped garden and courtyard for summer means the Bell has something for all seasons.

Famous for our food and drink, owners Chris Wright and Peter Austen have put together a team that delivers friendly and relaxed service with hearty, traditional food prepared with fresh ingredients, respect for the produce and a smattering of magic from head chef Ethan Rodgers. The awards have already started to come our way and in October 2018 Giles Coren included us in ‘The Times Top 100 Places To Eat’ having had a cracking lunch here in the summer. Simply put, we serve great pub food and drink, well priced and with a smile.
