Subterranean, low-lit & throbbing with nocturnal appeal, Taman Gang looks the picture of a chill-out lounge with its low teak tables, Balinese statues, candles & fresh orchids. It’s a bar
& club, with a 3am licence & DJs at weekends, but eating’s not cheating; you can share starters such as chicken & snow pea gyoza, salt & pepper squid with sweet chilli sauce, rare
beef salad or tuna tartare & wasabi tobiko with yuzu ponzu. Diners are encouraged to share mains, too: black cod, Korean lamb rump with kimchi, asparagus & cabbage, or XO tiger prawns with
vine tomato & courgette. The wine list is global, but Champagne & cocktails flow just as freely. Taman Gang is undeniably a party venue & a favourite for civilised hen nights, but ask
for a romantic table & you’ll be sensitively placed. The loos have their own decorative attractions.
