Food is excellent, so fresh and tasty with a good variety. Service is friendly and well-paced; not too fast but you can easily have a working lunch here. Ambience is buzzy and fun.

Japanese restaurateurs take note. There is a new style of Japanese restaurant that has recently arrived in the UK and it is terrific. Innovative and delicious, not one of the dishes disappointed. It’s like a cheaper version of Nobu. However, I would advise checking out the menu online before going as it can be overwhelming and confusing. Despite this, there are a lot of very bright and cheerful staff on hand to assist in your choices. We had two starters including a cauliflower dish which was a revelation, followed by a carpaccio of salmon with a lime marinade and then ended with four different ‘sticks’ of just heavenly gorgeousness. The service and atmosphere great and on Sue’s noise meter for being able to conduct a conversation with your companions, it was a 7/10 which isn’t bad. Will I go back? You bet!

I'd heard a lot of good things about Sticks n Sushi, I was apprehensive that a dutch restaurant would be able to win me over on Sushi - but they absolutely have! The restaurant is really cleverly designed in what is essentially a narrow long room with two entrances each side of Covent garden, all the table are well spaced and great for sharing. Sticks n Sushi is one of the only restaurants that has nailed printing photos of the food on the menu......most other places that do this are really only doing it so drunk-you doesn't have to try and read what kebab or pizza you want, you can just point and pay! But everything that looks fabulous on the menu at Sticks n Sushi....tastes just as fabulous on your plate at Sticks n Sushi and I was ever so relieved, as we ordered a lot. It's hard not to when everything looks so good so if you are watching the wallet - perhaps go with one of their set menus (we had the Monte Carlo) and you can get a bit of everything. (we then obviously ordered more to be greedy!) I preferred the sushi overall to the sticks -but the highlight was the Rib-eye beef with Japanese barbecue marinade - SO GOOD. They even take the simple stuff to a new level - grilled edamame beans tossed in soy, ginger & garlic was a game changer. I am so happy I've found this gem and I can't wait for my trousers to get a little looser so I can go back, order everything again and start the circle all over again.
