Subtitled an ‘espresso, lunch and tea bar’, rustic, wood-planked Salt is a livewire addition to the casual Covent Garden scene, located just a stroll from the Piazza. Open from breakfast onwards,
it deals in everything from wake-up bowls of organic porridge with date syrup, via chickpea and chorizo stew or highly rated rare beef and black truffle baguettes for lunch, through to raspberry
and almond tarts to go with an afternoon cuppa. Loose-leaf blends are sourced from Waterloos Teas in Cardiff; otherwise get your daily caffeine from shots of espresso, courtesy of Square Mile
Roasters. The owners source carefully and run their own artisan bakery, as well as producing all manner of cakes, biscuits and pastries in-house (check the counter to see what’s on offer).
