Tucked away off Bristol’s Whiteladies Road, this superb self-styled ‘wine house’ is a specialised drop-in with echoes of a decent little Parisian bar – think fine tipples plus decent nibbles and
you’re halfway there. From the net curtains and homely front door to the oenophile memorabilia and candles in wine bottles, all the jaunty details are artfully crafted. Breads are supplied by
acclaimed Bristol bakery Mark’s Bread and you can match them with top-notch stuff from the cheese and charcuterie counter. There are plenty of mouth-watering distractions here, including a
glass-fronted cellar at the rear of the place, which is used for storing some rather tempting cured meats as well as lots of interesting bottles – all of which should keep you coming back for more.
