About

The curry houses of Brick Lane are a thing of legend, so much so that you could go as far to say that no trip to the east End is complete without visiting one. Preem & Pirithi occupies a prime spot on the main drag and has long been churning out the favourite baltis of both locals and tourists alike. The restaurant’s vibe is easy going and relaxed; the team say it’s important that their customers feel at home in their space and attribute this to their long-standing position on the lane and continued popularity.

While the recipes are authentic and have a heritage feel, the interiors are modern and favour a light, bright aesthetic with white tiled detailing, minimalist furniture and rattan overhead lampshades. The calming decor allows the menu to do the talking and in the evening, the bustling restaurant drums up a lovely ambience.

Getting down to business and the main reason to pay Preem & Pirithi a visit is, of course, the food. The menu is incredibly extensive, separating dishes into Tandoori dishes, meat curries, the chef’s speciality, Preem specialities, House specialities, Biryani dishes and much, much more. Examples of the specialities across these sections include the Chicken tikka nagga with hot spicy sauce, the king prawn coriander chill grill served with tarka dal, butter chicken in fresh cream and meat hunza with fresh orange zest and spices. There’s also a huge selection of rice sides including lemon, coconut and pulao, as well as peshwari, chilli and tandoori naans.

If you want to get the most out of Preem & Pirthi’s menu, though, why not try one of their set menus, which can be enjoyed by either two or four people dining as a group. This will get you a couple of main dishes to share and the team are more than happy to share their advice on their favourites.
