Square Meal Review of Podium Restaurant & Bar ?

Untrammelled excess is the guiding principle at the Park Lane Hilton’s Podium Restaurant & Bar, where afternoon tea goes by the name of ‘confessions of a chocoholic’. You don’t have to like chocolate to eat here, but it helps. The four-course feast (£29.50) opens with dainty open sandwiches ahead of the main event: a tiered stand loaded with chocolate scones (plus homemade chocolate praline spread), pastries and fancies including white chocolate and cherry cheesecake, pistachio macaroons and meringue lollies served on a chocolate plate. Diabetic, gluten-free, nut-free and dairy-free variations are all available on request – heck, they’ll even do you a chocolate-free version. Specially blended loose teas by Harney & Son (including Earl Grey with lavender and Darjeeling with a hint of Lapsang) complete the offering. The ground-floor room is as colourful and contemporary as its tea.

A London Thing :: Christmas Afternoon Tea Please?

Afternoon Tea with a twist is fast becoming a new trend.

I recently tried the Christmas Afternoon Tea,at The London Hilton in Hyde Park.

As you’ve probably gathered from the above picture, this afternoon tea was a colorful story board, offered up on a decadent stand. The setting for the cake was a modern but yet classic, set of glass, square plates.

First up,The Bottom tier were plane scones, and scones with chocolate drops inside.Slightly warm upon arrival,an utter joy to eat...

  1. I ventured into London with my friend Kirsty to try the Chocoholics afternoon tea at Podium Restaurant located in the London Hilton Park Lane. As well as featuring rather a lot of chocolate, the tea is also themed around Pop Art. It's quite an impressive looking afternoon tea....but is there too much style and not enough substance??...
