Discreetly located on the first floor of the stylish Cavendish London Hotel, Petrichor is a far cry from the hustle and bustle of nearby Piccadilly Circus. Here, large windows make the most of
sweeping views over the streets below where shoppers and gallery goers enjoy the numerous charms of the upmarket St James area and the décor walks the line between relaxed and glamorous making it
ideal for the more intimate dining occasion. Regional, seasonal produce features heavily on Petrichor’s modern British menu which is produced entirely by the restaurants talented kitchen team. Food
is available from breakfast until late and includes a rather delicious afternoon tea.
The Petrichor at The Cavendish Hotel is one of the strangest restaurants I've been to all year. Why? you ask. Well keep on reading through my excessively boring and monotone writing style and you'll find out. The Petrichor restaurant is located on the first floor of The Cavendish Hotel in Piccadilly, directly behind Fortnum and Mason. Upon walking in to this four star hotel was like nothing I'd imagined. Dated, tired, clumsy decor - it was not very Piccadilly. We made our way up the stairs, and round the corner to the restaurant which was the epitome of hotel dining, stripes, dark wood, acid tripping carpet and hideous...

I am a sucker for hotel restaurants, they’re definitely one of my weaknesses. When I heard the news that Petrichor, (the restaurant inside plush The Cavendish London Hotel- Jermyn Streetl) had just received their second AA Rosette, as well as having launched a brand new menu- I was like a bee to a honey and decided to go without a second thought. Here, large windows make the most of sweeping views over the streets below where shoppers and gallery goers enjoy the numerous charms of the upmarket St James area. I’ve stepped into a 1970s airport lounge and I’m travelling first class to a two AA rosette culinary extravaganza, that might have earned a third, if the food was less confusing. The Petrichor Restaurant is located within The Cavendish, a four star boutique hotel in the heart of Mayfair. The present building was originally opened as a hotel in 1966 and was considered as one of the most modern hotels of its time. It now feels rather dated, like a travel lodge. There are too many garish patterned carpets and other references to 1960s style luxury. The space is attractive and large enough but requires some modernisation...

The Cavendish London is a perfect London base, situated on Jermyn Street in the heart of Mayfair. A four star deluxe hotel, there are 230 rooms which are much larger than you would normally find in the West End. Whether you’re in London on business, or for a shopping and theatre trip, it’s very convenient and Petrichor restaurant has a variety of special offers all year round. We chose it to visit the Royal Academy of Arts which is just round the corner and Fortnum and Mason which is on the same street. We received a really warm welcome at Reception, so I wasn’t surprised to read the rave reviews on TripAdvisor, praising...
