Square Meal Review of Pescatori Fitzrovia ?

A restaurant with a long and illustrious history, this Charlotte Street fish veteran is still packing in the crowds, who come to take advantage of its carefully rendered Italian seafood cookery, alfresco seating and colourful interiors – think black and orange leather banquettes, polished wood floors and prints on charcoal-grey walls. Prices are on the steep side, but there’s much to enjoy from the upmarket menu – perhaps fritto misto with garlic mayonnaise, ‘nduja-crusted scallops with cauliflower and truffle cream or baked whole sea bream with rosemary and Amalfi lemon. Lobster is a speciality: try it in a salad with mango, as a burger, cooked thermidor style or with a helping of linguine. To finish, desserts run the gamut from semifreddo and pannacotta to tiramisu and affogato. Wines and digestifs are equally inviting – just try to avoid footing the bill.

    Rate My Bistro :: Pescatori – Fitzrovia

    After a good but busy kind of a week, it felt fitting to take some time out and go out for dinner. The location of Pescatori was at the quieter end of Charlotte Street, away from the many other eateries.

    The initial vibe that I got when I first entered Pescatori was that it felt very welcoming. This continued throughout the whole evening. The restaurant had a rustic feel to it with its dark wooden beams, arches and alcoves. There was also a boat and oars hanging from the ceiling!

  1. If you like seafood, you’ll been in heaven here. The menu is lengthy and a rather delectable read. There are plenty of non-fishy dishes listed (steak, pasta, risotto …), but if you go for anything other than the seafood and fish options you’ll miss out on what this place does best. I love my starter course of cannolicchi (three west coast razor clams, £8.95) from the raw bar as well as my main course of coda di rospo (pan roasted monkfish tail with n’duja and almond crust and zucchini scapece, £22).
