Square Meal Review of Outlaw's at The Capital ?

Cornwall’s seafood chef extraordinaire Nathan Outlaw took a punt in transferring his seaside charms to the blue-blooded environs of The Capital hotel in 2012 but, with greater emphasis on fine dining, the traction is now starting to build – especially as the food “caters to both adventurous and conservative palates”. Bare tables bring a touch of modernity to the heavy drapery and oversized chandeliers, and Outlaw’s masterful way with fish makes you forget the somewhat “stuffy” surroundings. Every element has its “moment of glory” in standout dishes such as lightly cured mackerel with apple and beetroot or a robust slab of turbot with crispy oysters, gutsy cabbage and bacon, while the likes of lamb saddle and belly with aubergine, anchovy and tarragon should sate the meat-loving brigade. The hotel’s cellars add stellar wines to this emerging Michelin-starred big hitter.

    Food and other matters of interest :: Outlaw

    Nathan Outlaw is a young British chef who’s made quite a name for himself as one of the country’s leading seafood specialists. Having learned his trade under the great seafood man Rick Stein, he earned 2 Michelin stars at his first restaurant in Devon. His first London restaurant opened earlier this year at the Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge, tucked away on quiet Basil Street just around the corner from Harrods...

    londonfoodaholic :: REVIEW: Outlaw

    Nathan is known for having some of the best and freshest seafood in Cornwall. With him being such a huge success it was only time till he came to London, along with everyone else. He’s now taken over the restaurant at the Capital Hotel in prestigious Knightsbridge. I've been meaning to try it since it opened but only got round to it now. It has a very attractive selling point too, its set-menu...

    LONDONcalling :: Outlaws Seafood and Grill at The Capital

    There are only twenty chefs in the whole of the UK who have achieved the dizzying high of Two Michelin star status. One of those chefs is much lauded Nathan Outlaw, who's eponymous restaurant at The St Edonoc Hotel  in Rock, Cornwall is the focus of attention for foodies near and far. Personally as yet, I have not made the five hour  pilgrimage but no worries, one day.He has now though brought his style of cooking to Central London.Restaurant Nathan Outlaw in Cornwall is fine dining but there is also a Seafood and Grill in a separate location serving somewhat simpler fare. This is what is currently on offer at The...

    Nomface :: Outlaw

    Outlaws at The Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge opened at the start of the year and has already been awarded its first Michelin star. Chef Nathan Outlaw holds two stars at his flagship restaurant in Rock, Cornwall, famous for his seafood cuisine. Being lovers of fish we had high hopes for his London venture.

    After an eventful trip filled with tube delays and cancellations we arrived a little flustered. We were soon seated and settled down with the menus and a snack of possibly the best fish cakes we've ever tasted...

    inher30s :: Outlaw's at the Capital | inher30s

    A restaurant dedicated to seafood is reason itself to gain my undivided attention but with seafood man Nathan Outlaw, this was the place to experience fresh Cornish seafood, despite not actually travelling down south. The restaurant interior is a little soulless, perhaps to be expected in a hotel situated within a mere spitting distance to Knightsbridge and the shiny stores in the area.

    Whilst perusing the menu, munching along to a choice of Scottish white bread with cheddar and rosemary (Scrumptious!) or Cornish Doom bar brown bread, a little trio of Cod fishcakes with lime mayo come along to whet the appetite....

  1. So to purge my memories of my last restaurant mistake, we decided to attend somewhere a bit less ambiguous in its reviews. Outlaw’s.

    A restaurant that was known for its sea food, the lunch started promisingly with breaded deep fried fish balls. I love almost anything deep fried...
