Not to be confused with the (unrelated) Mosque Kitchen on Nicholson Square, this low-fi Indian eatery follows a simple formula – super-cheap, massive helpings of authentic grub served in a
canteen-style setting without fuss, fripperies or adornments. Dishes are cooked slowly but delivered fast-food style: staff ladle out generous helpings from catering-sized cauldrons onto paper
plates, while punters sit crammed together in the claustrophobic eating area or outside under a tarpaulin. It’s no wonder the place is popular with students, who don’t mind a jot about the lack of
creature comforts or the limited menu – particularly as a basic chicken curry and rice can be picked up for £4 (an unbeatable Indian deal in the city). Cash only.
