It’s all change in the undercroft of the Lloyd’s building, with One Under Lime replacing what was a Corney & Barrow outlet. The work-hungry brigade can drop by for an energising ‘underwriter’s
full English’ or a smoked salmon omelette before getting down to business, & the kitchen also provides plentiful lunchtime sustenance – think fish pie or Franconian’s Londoner sausage ring with
mash. ‘Small bites’ (Welsh rarebit, Scotch eggs) take over in the evening, when liquid refreshment is the primary concern. The wine list has been put together by Gerard Basset MW & offers a
fine spread of Old & New World bottles organised by style & grape variety. The interior has been given a sharp, high-gloss look with a shiny bar, green strip lights, black pillars &
tricksy illumination, while the terrace remains an asset in this congested neighbourhood.
