About

Not too far from Calton Hill is No. 11 Brasserie, a charming restaurant with a luxurious feel, yet relaxed in its approach. Using some of Scotland's best local ingredients, No. 11 Brasserie combines traditional flavours with the finest produce. The dining room is decorated in a grand living room style, with deep blue walls and candles in the fireplace, and also serves afternoon tea on occasion.

A fermented tomato and mozzarella salad with balsamic reduction kicks off the starters, followed by a trio of home-cured salmon with citrus gin and caper crisps. Sous vide Highland venison is on the main menu, served up with local haggis and blackberry compote. A light key lime pie with minted meringue, mojito gel and fresh mint from the brasserie's garden seems to be a popular dessert option. Serving up dishes that also look as impressive as they sound, the dishes are presented in a wow like fashion, from the elaborate langoustine cocktail to the deconstructed chocolate forest dessert. The brasserie's menu is served seven days a week between 5 and 8.45pm. There’s a carefully curated wine list, and several inventive cocktails, which when paired with the cosy, tasteful decor, which nods to the building's historical significance, makes it a great destination for special occasions and romantic evenings.

No. 11 Brunswick is the name of the Georgian townhouse, as the brasserie shares its home with a luxurious boutique hotel, showcasing six rooms ranging in size and decor.
