pews, old wooden vegetable boxes and bold floral wallpaper, it’s an effortlessly relaxed venue. Big windows keep things light and bright, while summertime tables are set out along a terrace
overlooking the fragrant plantings. The all-day menu stays true to the ‘local and homemade’ ethos, with everything from breakfast to a good choice of coffees, teas and seductive home-baked goodies
– courgette and lime cake, lavender shortcake or warm cheese scones. Lunches keep things equally simple and seasonal, perhaps spiced pumpkin soup or sweet potato cakes with Greek yoghurt, coriander
sauce and salad. Own-brand preserves, relishes and provisions – plus a petite plant nursery – tempt as you leave.
